Council of May to meet to finalize final report

Buenos Aires, December 8 (NA) – The Council of May will meet again on Tuesday at 13:30 with the intention of finalizing the last details of the final report to be sent to the National Congress. It will do so in the Hall of Shields of the Ministry of the Interior under the coordination of the Chief of Cabinet, Manuel Adorni. According to the Argentine News Agency learned from several councilors, there are no yet details on the format for presenting the final synthesis of the debate body, which met once a month since June with the aim of turning the 10 points of the May Pact, signed in the province of Tucumán, into bill projects. With the exception of the rediscussion on the distribution of coparticipable funds and pension reform, items 5 and 9, which due to their complexity will be left for later, the libertarian administration seeks to finalize the presentation of the final conclusions that will contemplate the positions of the sectors that expressed dissent on some issues. In this way, with the officialization of the call for extraordinary sessions, which will run from December 10 to 30 of the same month, Casa Rosada is working to approve during the summer the 2026 Budget, labor and Penal Code reforms, the Glaciers Law and the initiative that seeks to 'shield' fiscal balance and prohibit laws that generate deficits. However, an official who participated in the drafting of several projects clarified to this agency that what was discussed in the Council of May will not be 'necessarily' included in the summer extension of the sessions. 'Although there are shared issues, they are two totally different things,' he clarified. Next Tuesday, the coordinating minister will receive - for the last time in 2025 - the Minister of Deregulation, Federico Sturzenegger, on behalf of the Executive Branch; the Governor of Mendoza, Alfredo Cornejo, on behalf of the provinces; the national senator Carolina Losada (UCR), on behalf of the Chamber of Deputies; the national deputy Cristian Ritondo (PRO), on behalf of the Chamber of Deputies; Gerardo Martínez from the CGT, and the president of the UIA, Martín Rappallini, on behalf of the business community.
